I knew I would make music my career when I discovered I liked PLAYING computer games, and not programming them!
Favorite composer and/or musical period: Brahms and the Romantic period.
What do you enjoy most about performing? Communicating with the audience.
I've always thought it might be fun to be a professional tennis player, auto mechanic, or personal shopper.
When I'm not on stage you might find me doing something athletic outside, or working on my house or cars.
My favorite thing about Rochester is that there's not much traffic!
What do you think is the Orchestra's most important role in our community? Education.
Biography
Since joining the RPO in 1991, Perrin Yang has served as acting Principal Second Violin and Associate Concertmaster. He is a member of the Rochester Chamber Orchestra, where he has appeared as soloist and concertmaster on several occasions. He also performs chamber music and has appeared as guest artist at the Fortissimo!, Aspen, Peter Britt, Roycroft, Skaneateles and Boulder Bach festivals. Originally from San Francisco, Mr. Yang is a high honors graduate of Oberlin College and the University of Michigan.
