2012 RPL Young Artist Winners Recital

Rochester, NY – The Rochester Philharmonic League of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra announces its 4th annual Young Artists in Concert – a Celebration of Winners to be held Sunday, July 8, 2012 at 7:30 PM at Kilbourn Hall of the Eastman School of Music. Since the 1950’s the League has held the annual Young Artist Auditions for high school musicians from our nine-county area who compete for $500 Awards and $1000 Scholarships. This event is a showcase for the outstanding talent of those who received top honors.

Performing at the Winners Recital this year are:

Winner of the Dorothea P. Allen Award for Male Vocalists and the RPL’s   
Special Award which makes possible his appearance with the RPO.

Emily Helenbrook, Soprano, student of Patricia Alexander
Alexander High School, Class of 2012
Winner of the Jan DeGaetani Scholarship for Vocalists

Michaela Swan, Soprano, student of Joshua Bouillon
Penfield High School, Class of 2013
Winner of the Tessa Martin Award for Female Vocalists

Rachel Mills, Cello, student of Kathleen Kemp
Webster Schroeder High School, Class of 2012
Winner of the Aldridge-Tinker Scholarship

Hayley Miller, Flute, student of Rebecca Gilbert
Canandaigua Academy, Class of 2013
Winner of the Helen and George Greer Award for Instrumentalists

Duo Xu, Piano, student of Tamari Gurevich
Williamsville East High School, Class of 2014
Winner of the Mildred and Julius Ness Award for Piano

The Recital is free and open to the public. 
Donations to the RPL Endowment Fund are welcome.
