Rochester, NY – The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra is pleased to announce that Amy Blum will join the RPO staff on September 1, 2006 as its new Manager of Media Relations. Ms. Blum has worked with the Orchestra as a public relations and media consultant for the last five months.
As President of Amy Blum Publicity which she founded in 1985, Amy has been a music and entertainment publicist for soloists, composers, ensembles, record labels, orchestras, web magazines, festivals, multi-cultural and multi-media performance pieces. From 2001–2005, she served as the national publicist for the Eastman School of Music. Her work has been recognized by Chamber Music magazine and the Rochester Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America with an Award of Excellence in 2003.

A native of New York City, Amy graduated Magna cum laude from the University of Buffalo with a bachelor’s degree in music, having studied piano with Yvar Mikashoff and Stephen Manes. She subsequently earned her certification as a music therapist from Montclair State College, and created the first position of its kind for BOCES #1 in the Rochester area.
