RPO HISTORY:
This is the first time your RPO will play a Peter Warlock composition in a Philharmonic Series or Sunday Matinee concert.
Your RPO has played Dvořák’s Serenade in D Minor twice in a Philharmonics Series concert in the year 2020.
- Ward Stare conducted on both occasions – March 4-8, 2020 then again on November 4, 2020.
Your RPO has played Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in D Minor eight times from 1931 to 2011.
- Fritz Reiner conducted this piece on December 4, 1931 with George MacNabb on piano.
- Hugh Wolff (who conducted earlier this season – October 2023) conducted this piece February 26-28, 1987 with Malcolm Frager on piano.
- Christopher Seaman conducted this piece twice – March 2-4, 2000 with Helene Grimaud and March 2-4, 2006 with Alexander Kobrin exactly 6 years later.
