Your RPO has played Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll 15 times in a Philharmonics Series or Sunday matinee concert from 1924-2020.
- Albert Coates conducted the piece in our inaugural season on March 5, 1924.
- Andreas Delfs conducted the piece October 16-20, 2018.
- Ward Stare conducted the piece October 20-21, 2020.
This is the second time your RPO will play a Cary Ratcliff composition in a Philharmonic Series or Sunday Matinee concert.
- Peter Bay conducted the world premiere of Concerto for Viola January 9-11, 1992.
- Your RPO is also playing a Cary Ratcliff composition “Aurora Borealis” for the RPO Eclipse Spectacular: A Symphonic Celebration on April 7, 2024.
Your RPO has played Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major 11 times from 1939 to 2008.
