SAINT-SAËNS ”Bacchanale” from Samson and Delilah
LALO Symphonie espagnole
SAINT-SAËNS Symphony No. 3, “Organ”
Christoph König returns to conduct Camille Saint-Saëns’s “Bacchanale” from Samson and Delilah. Édouard Lalo’s Symphonie espagnole is considered a violin concerto by musicians and, indeed, inspired Tchaikovsky to write his own Violin Concerto. Chee-Yun returns to Kodak Hall with this charming and mischievous piece. Saint-Saëns’s energetic and powerful Third Symphony, composed in 1886 and popularly known as “the Organ Symphony,” shows Saint-Saëns at the peak of his career.
