Join us for special pre-concert chats prior to both performances of the Rochester premiere of Revolution: The Music of The Beatles, A Symphonic Experience on Friday and Saturday, April 22 & 23 at 8 p.m. Free for ticketholders!
Join your RPO for a unique symphonic experience featuring six of the world’s top vocalists and musicians together with restorative orchestrations from the original sessions at Abbey Road, arranged by Grammy-winner and Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik. Accompanied by hundreds of rare and unseen photos, Revolution takes audiences on a magical, musical, and visual journey of The Beatles. The production features arrangements of over 25 top hits, including “Ticket to Ride,” Penny Lane,” “Because,” “Get Back,” “Here Comes the Sun,” and “Hey Jude.”
From 7-7:30 p.m. in Kodak Hall, Grammy-winning Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik will discuss arranging more than 25 Beatles’ hits while staying true to the original George Martin orchestrations. One of his special guests both nights will be the world’s foremost authority on the equipment used by The Beatles: Rochester’s own Andy Babiuk. A respected expert on vintage guitars and author of the critically acclaimed Beatles Gear, Babiuk is also a well-known musician, a staff consultant to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and consultant to major auction houses, and owner of a boutique music shop in Fairport, NY. The two will be joined by concert co-producer and Wise Music President Robert Thompson, whose company procured the performance rights for the concert. Like Tyzik, Thompson is an Eastman School of Music alumnus.
