Ward Stare conducts orchestra live in Kodak Hall while revealing his inaugural season

Rochester, NY – The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) invites the Rochester community to a special season announcement in Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre on Tuesday, February 10 at 7 p.m.  New Music Director Ward Stare will emcee the announcement as well as lead the entire orchestra on stage in performing excepts from his inaugural 2015/16 season.

“Developing a deeper, richer relationship with our audience and our community is a major passion of mine and will be a recurring theme for the RPO moving forward,” explains Maestro Stare, a Rochester native. “We want to share our excitement about the upcoming season with as many people as possible.”

The event is free, but tickets are required in advance of the concert. The RPO encourages those interested in attending to reserve their seats as soon as possible by calling (585) 454-2100 and mentioning the word “SURPRISE.”  Eastman Theatre Box Office hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. A full house is expected, and requests will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Seating is general admission.

With Michael Butterman as Principal Conductor for Education and Community Engagement (The Louise and Henry Epstein Family Chair) – the first endowed position of its kind in the country – the RPO reaches more than 12,000 children through its specific programs for school-aged children.
