ROCHESTER “PILS”HARMONIC DEBUTS

Rochester, NY – The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) and Three Heads Brewing (186 Atlantic Ave., 14607) have collaborated on a new beer: Rochester PILSharmonic.

“We love this city and everyone who makes it such an amazing place to be. Partnering with the RPO is a no-brainer since it’s been such an institution in this city for as long as we can remember,” says Three Heads Brewing’s Minister of Mayhem Geoff Dale. “We’ve been kicking around this idea for a couple of years and are so honored to have this come to fruition.”

The German-style Pilsner is brewed with Bohemian Pilsner Malt; German Perle, Saphir and Hallertau Tradition Hops; and Traditional Bavarian Yeast. It will make its world premiere this Wednesday, February 9, at 5 p.m. at the brewery, with a celebratory fanfare by RPO trumpeters Herb Smith, Doug Prosser, and Wes Nance, followed by the tapping of the first keg of Rochester PILSharmonic in the Three Heads Tasting Room.

The new beer will be carried by area Wegmans and will also make an appearance in the upcoming digital RPO 2022-23 Season Announcement, which will debut on Wednesday, February 23 at 7 p.m. at rpo.org. Music Director Andreas Delfs and Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik shot some of the announcement at Three Heads as well.

“I really enjoyed hanging out with Andreas at the brewery and talking about my two favorite subjects: music and the RPO,” says Jeff. “Add to that, a superb new Pilsner to taste and you have a very special morning. YES, I did drink a beer at 10:30 a.m. in the spirit of this special occasion.”

“Jeff and I had a great time chatting about our upcoming season – and sampling the Rochester PILSharmonic – and we invite everyone to see the result in our February 23rd Season Announcement,” adds Andreas.

The official Rochester PILSharmonic launch and tasting event will take place later this month at Three Heads Brewing.
