Irondequoit, N.Y. — A large crowd came out on a picturesque Friday night to hear some live music.
The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra put on a concert at I-Square.
The show was sponsored by ESL and Howard Hanna Real Estate.
“When we were given this opportunity to bring the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra to our turn, we jumped on it,” said Catherine Bianchi, manager of Howard Hanna’s Irondequoit office. “It’s a great event. We have over 1,200 people here.”
It featured patriotic numbers as well as other classics, including several from film scores.
The night was a new way to showcase the orchestra, according to Rob Dermody, RPO’s senior director of development.
“The mission of the orchestra is to inspire, engage, and educate through music,” he said. “It’s a universal language, and to bring music out into the community is really special.”
