Rochester, N.Y., Mar. 29, 2006 – One month ago, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra announced that an anonymous donor had offered a one-time gift of $150,000 if the organization meets its $2.16 million Annual Campaign fundraising goal by June 30, 2006. During the last four weeks, approximately 350 donors have given more than $108,000 in support of the orchestra’s commitment to enrich and inspire the community through the art of music. Total gifts and pledges to the Annual Campaign total $1.678 million, leaving $482,000 to raise before the RPO will receive this important incentive gift.
Ingrid A. Stanlis, Chairperson of the RPO Board of Directors, said: “It is incredibly generous of this anonymous donor to step forward again with an important incentive opportunity. And we owe our sincere thanks to the nearly 6,000 donors who have already made their gifts or pledges to the Annual Campaign – our programs and services depend on their continued support. At the same time, it is imperative that we reach our fundraising goal and earn this $150,000 incentive. The RPO is moving forward with a vigorous new vision and strategic plan that will secure our future, and every dollar of earned and contributed income supports those efforts. We’re asking our friends in the community to show their support of our orchestra’s outstanding artistic quality, world-class education and outreach programs, and sound financial management by making a gift or pledge to our Annual Campaign that will help us earn this incentive.”
