RPO Meets $2.16 Million Campaign Goal

Rochester, NY– The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra is pleased to announce that – as of today – it has met its 2006 Annual Campaign goal of $2,160,000. At this morning’s Board of Directors meeting, members recognized the Orchestra’s numerous artistic and financial successes this year. “Both internal support and community response are at a milestone goal,” said Vice Chairperson James Boucher, who is also Chair of the Development Committee. “In the spirit of that support, and with the Orchestra’s strategic plan at the forefront, we were able to fulfill our target board gifts prior to the end of our fiscal year.”

The RPO has received donations from more than 7,076 individuals and corporations in the form of first time and additional gifts as well as renewals, ranging from $1 to $50,000. Reaching the annual goal also has earned an anonymous incentive gift of $150,000. RPO President and CEO Rick Nowlin is thrilled with the Orchestra’s accomplishments this year. “The RPO is grateful for the generous community and organizational support,” he said. “We continue to look ahead at a vibrant future for the Orchestra.” Contributions to the Annual Campaign are always welcome; the RPO fiscal year ends on August 31, 2006.

Music lovers have two more opportunities this weekend to hear the RPO before the end of its summer season. This Saturday, the Orchestra performs an all-Tchaikovsky program including the 1812 Overture with Cannons at 7:30 p.m. at CMAC, followed by a free Sunday afternoon concert at the Genesee Country Village & Museum in Mumford, NY at 2 p.m. Subscriptions for the 2006-07 season are available by phone (585) 454-2100 or online at www.rpo.org.
