RPO’s November Casual Sunday Matinee Concert Now Will Honor Veterans

Rochester, NY – In recognition of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra’s second Casual Sunday Matinee concert falling on Veterans Day (Sunday, November 11, 2007), that concert has been changed to Honor: An American Salute.  Led by Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik, the concert will pay musical tribute to the men and women who served in the United States Armed Forces and celebrate America.  Probable repertoire includes Tyzik’s own Pleasant Valley Suite and the East Coast premiere of his Bravo! Colorado (written in memory of President Gerald Ford), the Armed Forces Salute, Star Spangled Banner, Stars and Stripes Forever and other patriotic works.  This concert replaces the Casual Sunday Matinee concert previously titled Masters of American Musicals.

Time and location of the concert remain the same: Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Eastman Theatre.  Single tickets for this and all other RPO 2007-08 season concerts go on sale Monday morning, August 27 at 10 a.m. at the RPO box office (108 East Avenue), by calling (585) 454-2100, online at www.rpo.org, or at any of the Rochester-area Wegmans stores.  A complete season schedule is available online.
