Your RPO hits the road, bringing music to communities across Monroe County with the Around the Town concerts! Celebrate the season with a vibrant evening of fresh melodies and joyful harmonies. Around the Town concerts are always free and open to the public—no tickets required!
Community Comps
Through the Community Comp program, the RPO partners with local organizations to provide free tickets to those who might not otherwise attend. This initiative breaks down financial and social barriers, welcoming more people into the concert experience. By sharing music widely, we strengthen the bonds that unite our community. Everyone deserves a seat in the hall.
RPO @ RIT
The RPO has partnered with RIT to produce a series of concerts featuing members of the RPO on the RIT campus, bringing orchestral and chamber music to the campus in venues like the SHED Atrium. Ensembles include a brass quintet, marimba band, jazz trios, and more!

RPO OUTDOORS
Summer heats up with our RPO Outdoors Series. Throughout the month of July, your RPO heads all over Rochester, Monroe County, and beyond truly providing music that moves. Most concerts are free and open to the public including our free City of Rochester Parks Series where ensembles travel to a park in each of Rochester’s four quadrants.
SENSORY-FRIENDLY CONCERTS
Designed to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for those with sensory sensitivities, RPO Sensory-Friendly Concerts offer an experience tailor-made for music lovers of all ages and abilities. From the moment you arrive, our friendly staff will help guide you through the concert experience. RPO musicians will perform classical and contemporary pieces carefully chosen to be enjoyable and accessible for all attendees. Accommodations include a quiet room, noise-reduction headphones, and a social narrative. A relaxed atmosphere encourages movement and interaction, allowing you and your family to relish the music in a way that feels comfortable.
COMMUNITY EVENTS
Beyond the concert hall, the RPO participates in festivals, celebrations, and special gatherings throughout the year. These events bring music to unexpected places, reaching new audiences and deepening community connections. Every performance is tailored to the spirit of the occasion like our special Eclipse concert (pictured above). We believe music has a place in every moment worth celebrating.
