RPO for all
Care & Wellness Initiative
The RPO’s Care & Wellness Initiatives bring the healing power of music to hospitals, senior centers, and community spaces. Through chamber performances, interactive programs, and partnerships with local organizations, the RPO shares comfort, connection, and joy.
Around the Town Concerts
Through free concerts at local venues "around the town", the RPO makes extraordinary musical experiences more accessible, connects with new audiences, and celebrates the power of music to bring people together. No ticket required!
RPO Outdoors City Parks Series
Every Tuesday evening in July, small chamber ensembles of RPO musicians visit a different quadrant of the city, performing in local parks and creating welcoming, accessible opportunities for residents to experience the orchestra in their own backyards. It’s a celebration of community, connection, and the power of music to bring people together.
RPO @ RIT
Featuring small ensembles of RPO musicians in RIT’s performance spaces, RPO @ RIT offers audiences a unique opportunity to experience the artistry and versatility of these exceptional musicians up close in a welcoming, campus setting.
Instrument Petting Zoos
Instrument Petting Zoos give young children a hands-on introduction to the world of music. RPO staff bring a variety of musical instruments directly to schools, community organizations, and events, where children can explore, touch, and try playing each instrument while learning how sounds are made. These interactive experiences spark curiosity, encourage creativity, and help children discover the joy of making music.
RPO Outdoors
Summer heats up with our RPO Outdoors Series. Throughout the month of July, your RPO heads all over Rochester, Monroe County, and beyond, truly providing music that moves. Most concerts are free and open to the public including our free City of Rochester Parks Series where ensembles travel to a park in each of Rochester’s four quadrants.
OPUS
OPUS is dedicated to providing opportunities for Rochester City School students through music education. Activities range from open rehearsals and RPO musician coaching, to complimentary tickets to RPO concerts and opportunities to perform alongside the RPO.
