100 ACTS OF GIVING BACK
The RPO's 100 Acts of Giving Back will highlight the ways in which music can brighten days, inspire creativity, and change lives both with and beyond the baton. Your RPO will participate in and sponsor a wide variety of special performances and events including open rehearsals, hands-on educational opportunities, community engagement programs, and so much more. From our Care and Wellness Initiative to our Orchestral Program for Urban Students (OPUS) to our Summer Concert series in parks throughout our region, we hope everyone will find an Act of Giving Back to enjoy!
School Concerts
School concerts are specially curated programs that introduce students to classical music, orchestral instruments, and musical concepts. They feature interactive elements, such as audience participation. The goal is to foster an appreciation for classical music and expose students to the world of orchestral performances.
Educational Opportunities
As one of the first orchestras in the nation to introduce a music education program specifically for young people, we continue to focus on how we can enrich and influence younger generations through music! Open rehearsals and music visits provide opportunities both in Kodak Hall and in the classroom to experience the magic of the RPO outside of a formal concert. Our acclaimed guest artists also provide opportunities to share their music, expertise, and experiences with students through in-person performances and engagements throughout the season.
Family-Friendly Concerts
Exposure to music at an early age fosters lifelong learning and music appreciation. The RPO programs a number of concerts throughout the season specifically with young families in mind including our popular OrKIDStra series and Sensory-Friendly concerts for children with sensory considerations.
