KYLE A. LAMB VICE PRESIDENT OF EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) announced the appointment of Kyle A. Lamb as the organization’s next Vice President of Education and Community Engagement, effective August 3, 2026.
Lamb is a trained music educator and percussionist who brings extensive experience in arts education, community engagement, and collaborative program development. Most recently, Lamb served as the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra’s Learning Programs Manager. In his role he partnered with the region’s largest arts funder to ensure that all 5th graders in Cincinnati Public Schools could attend a Young People’s Concert every year, designed an Open Rehearsals for Schools program inviting student ensembles to watch rehearsal and engage with conductors and musicians, and expanded digital education resources that have reached over 500,000 views.
“I am thrilled to join the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra,” said Lamb. “Rochester is a uniquely vibrant arts community and the RPO has a century-long commitment to the community and education. Lots of great work has been done but there’s still more to do to ensure that the RPO shares the power of music with everyone, no matter their age, background, or circumstance.”
Lamb will report to newly appointed RPO President & CEO Tonya McBride Robles. The Education and Community Engagement department oversees a wide range of initiatives, including education concerts for pre-k through sixth-grade students, the orKIDStra concert series, Around the Town concert series, the Orchestral Program for Urban Students (OPUS), and the Care & Wellness initiative engagements. In his role, Lamb will also oversee the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, represent the RPO in the ROCmusic Collaborative, and serve as liaison with the Rochester Philharmonic League in support of its education programs.
“Kyle brings a rare combination of artistic experience, educational expertise, and a genuine passion for connecting communities through music,” said RPO Board Chair Katherine Lindahl. “His leadership will help strengthen the RPO’s commitment to create meaningful and inclusive experiences that reach students, families, and audiences throughout the Greater Rochester area.”
Lamb has taught students of all ages and backgrounds in both private and classroom settings and has maintained strong ties with schools and private students as a percussionist since 2014. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with conductors, artistic operations staff, musicians, and educators to create impactful learning and engagement opportunities that connect communities with orchestral music. He holds Bachelor of Music degrees in Music Education and Percussion Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
