ALL ROCHESTER PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA
CONCERTS POSTPONED THROUGH MAY 9

Rochester, NY – Given the increasing impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the community, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) will postpone all RPO concerts through May 9, 2020.

Concerts affected include The Little Mermaid (March 14), Beethoven + Brahms (March 19 &21), American Diva (April 17 & 18), Lees Conducts Schubert (April 19), Around the Town community concerts (April 22-24), National Geographic’s Symphony for Our World (April 25), The Sounds of Nature (April 26), The Year 1905 (April 30 & May 2), Thundering Organ Symphony (May 7 & 9), and Ben Folds in Concert with the RPO (May 8).

The RPO is currently at work rescheduling these events as quickly as possible. Assembling a season is a multi-year process of selecting repertoire, securing artists and coordinating Eastman Theatre dates with the University of Rochester and other venues. The RPO wants to assure that everyone will receive the full value of their tickets once the music returns.

Beginning March 19, the RPO Administrative Office and Patron Services Center will provide services online and by telephone only. Inquiries regarding concerts and subscriptions can still be made by calling the Patron Services Center at (585) 454-2100 during regular business hours (Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM). Staff will continue to check messages and e-mails regularly and will respond just as soon as possible.

The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra is deeply grateful for the outpouring of community support. During this uncertain period, the RPO is asking for the community’s continued assistance by donating the value of unused tickets to the RPO’s annual fund. By doing so, ticketholders are helping to limit the financial impact to the RPO and helping its musicians and staff weather this difficult period. Ticketholders who donate will receive four free vouchers to select RPO concerts in the 2020-21 Season. The RPO also encourages the public to consider purchasing a gift certificate, redeemable for any concerts in any season. Lastly, the RPO encourages the general public to advocate for government support and assistance to assure that non-profit institutions like the RPO will continue to enrich our communities.

The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra will continue to work with the University and community partners, and provide updates to the general public.
