KIMBO IL CAFFÉ DI NAPOLI IS THE OFFICIAL COFFEE OF THE RPO
The Rochester Philharmonic (RPO) proudly announces Kimbo il Caffé di Napoli as the orchestra’s official coffee and Sponsor of our Sunday Matinees at Naz Series.
“From the first note, the Rochester Philharmonic and our new friends from Kimbo have been kindred spirits,” said RPO President and CEO Curtis S. Long, who continued – “no surprise, given their coffee and our music are both steeped in tradition.”
Long added, “Building on the momentum of our Centennial Season, the RPO continues to create new partnerships, inspire economic growth, and connect the Greater Rochester community. This new relationship with Kimbo ticks all of those boxes.”
The RPO’s popular Sunday Matinee Series gives RPO concertgoers an unusually intimate experience, as it moves the orchestra out of its 2,400-seat home in Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre and into the 550-seat Beston Hall at Glazer Music Performance Center on the campus of Nazareth University.
A special-guest star at first so-called “Sunday Mats” concert last month was Kimbo il Caffé di Napoli itself, with attendees offered samples of Kimbo coffee and espresso, as well as a nitro-infused cold brew. Kimbo USA Vice President of Sales Richard McCarson was on hand to engage concertgoers with a little coffee talk, including sharing Kimbo’s storied history.
The company was founded in 1963 in Naples, Italy, and the Kimbo trademark created to evoke the exotic lands where coffee beans are grown. By 2022, Kimbo was the No. 2 packaged coffee produced in Italy. And last year Kimbo marked its 60th anniversary, celebrating its presence in more than 100 countries.
Kimbo has already made a deep impact in major stateside markets, but the Rochester-based McCarson said he saw a unique opportunity to introduce the brand in his mid-sized hometown.
“Italy has a rich history in both music and coffee,” he explained. “Home to some of history’s greatest composers, Italy is also often referred to as the ‘birthplace of espresso.’ The RPO and Kimbo make for a perfect pairing,”
Rochesterians may purchase Kimbo products for home brewing at Amazon.com and KimboCoffee.com, and, as per McCarson, it won’t be long before we’re enjoying Kimbo coffee, espresso, and cold brew in local cafés.
For now, expect Kimbo to be a presence throughout the RPO’s 24/25 season, marking the beginning of a beautiful, and delicious, friendship.
