Before the concert, during intermission, and after the show, ticket holders will be enchanted by a sampling of the more than 16,000 artifacts held by the All Things Oz Museum. Based in Chittenango, NY, the birthplace of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz author L. Frank Baum, the museum features items from across the Oz universe including everything from Baum’s first Oz novel (published in 1900) to items from the Broadway and Hollywood productions of the musical Wicked.
Among items on display at the concert will be artifacts tied to the 1939 film, including a prop violin signed by munchkin fiddler Mickey Carroll, a replica pair of ruby slippers, a munchkin-actor appearance costume worn at the 2007 Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony; also, a 2003 Wicked lobby card signed by the original Broadway cast including Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel, and silver-shoe replicas from the production.
In the theater starting at 6:10PM, International L. Frank Baum and All Things Oz Museum Historical Foundation President Marc Baum and conductor Terrell will take part in a pre-concert chat about the museum and the night’s special concert-to-film presentation of The Wizard of Oz. Before the show, during intermission, and at the event’s conclusion, attendees also are invited to take photos in front of a replica Emerald City backdrop. All Things Oz will also be selling a sampling of Oz collectibles from its museum store.
