New Staff Additions at the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra

Rochester, NY – The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra is pleased to announce three new staff additions in the departments of Marketing and Development plus an internal staff move.

As of Monday, November 12, Christina Arden began as Group Sales Manager within the marketing department, a staff position outlined in the RPO’s Strategic Plan.  This position is responsible for growing revenue and audiences through sales to a broad spectrum of groups while working closely with the Patron Services staff.  Ms. Arden worked for five years in sales at Tradition, the Judaica/specialty gift shop, and prior to that time was the publisher of the Patriot Newspapers in Cuba, NY for more than 10 years.  Ms. Arden currently lives in Webster.

On Monday, December 3, Sarah Goldstein Post will begin in her new position as Annual Giving Coordinator within the department of development.   Responsible for the planning and implementation of the RPO’s Annual Campaign – this year set at $2.4 million dollars – Ms. Goldstein Post will work closely with direct mail and telefunding partners.  In her recent position as Development Associate at The Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield, MA, Ms. Goldstein Post managed donor files, coordinated mailing for the Theatre’s annual appeal and assisted with special events.  A native of Batavia, she sang for three years in the Festival High School Chorale, which collaborates annually with the Orchestra for its Gala Holiday Pops concerts.

Greeting visitors at the RPO reception desk starting Monday, November 19 will be Janice Beneway, newly named Office Administrator.  In addition to her front desk duties, she also will provide administrative support for the marketing and patron services departments.  An Ontario, NY resident, Ms. Beneway comes to the RPO after 24 years at Sage Rutty & Co, Inc., where she held positions as Director of First Impressions, Secretary and Receptionist.

In addition, Brian Piazza, formerly Office Administrator and Accounting Assistant, has moved into the position of Box Office Manager.  Mr. Piazza manages day-to-day box office operations, and oversees more than a half-dozen patron services staff.  He lives in Rochester and has been with the RPO for two years.
