P in R-P-O Stands for Party!
Rochester, NY – The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra just wants to have fun. And what better RPO figure to toast than Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik, celebrating his 15th season with the RPO. In addition to the special WPOP concerts on Friday and Saturday, October 24 and 25, a culinary signature event, a Red Carpet Walk, and a Stars & Streetlights Soiree transform the entire weekend into a “Jeff Fest.” The event timeline is as follows:
Friday, October 24 (Red Carpet Spectacular):
At 5:30 pm, the RPO presents a unique, signature culinary dinner event sponsored by Wegmans Food Markets, honoring their sponsorship of the WPOP series. “A Taste of Celebrations” by Wegmans’ master chefs serves up a culinary preview of its holiday “Menu” magazine, taking place in a large, beautifully decorated, heated tent on Gibbs Street running from East Avenue to Main Street (closed to traffic). A separate ticket is required for this event; call 454-7311 x232.
At 7:00 pm, the highly anticipated Red Carpet Walk will run the length of the tent, ending at Eastman Theatre, to honor Jeff and to provide opportunities for both media and the general public to meet and interview Jeff, Honorary Red Carpet Chairs Danny and Stency Wegman, RPO musicians, Mayor Duffy, Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks, and other dignitaries who generously support the RPO. The Red Carpet Walk is free and open to the public.
At 8:00 pm, the Celebrate Tyzik! concert begins in Eastman Theatre with Allen Vizzutti and Jami Tyzik.
At approximately 10:00 pm, the tent re-opens for all concert attendees to show their ticket stub and enjoy a free “Stars & Streetlights Soiree,” with dessert, cash bar, and live jazz.
Saturday, October 25:
At 8:00 pm, the Celebrate Tyzik! concert begins in Eastman Theatre with Allen Vizzutti and Jami Tyzik.
At approximately 10:00 pm, the tent re-opens for all concert attendees to show their ticket stub and enjoy a free “Stars & Streetlights Soiree,” with dessert, cash bar, and live jazz.
All tickets to Friday night’s Red Carpet Spectacular include “A Taste of Celebrations” dinner, the Red Carpet Walk, the “Celebrate Tyzik” concert, and the “Stars & Streetlights Soiree.” Single tickets: $250/person; Tyzik Patron Ticket: $350; Tyzik Quartet (four tickets): $1500.
