RPO 2017/18 SEASON PREVIEW CONCERT FEB. 7

Third annual free concert in Kodak Hall reveals next season

Co-hosts Ward Stare & Jeff Tyzik invite you into their “home”

Rochester, NY – The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) will reveal its entire 2017/18 season with its third annual, free Season Preview Concert on Tuesday, February 7 at 7 p.m. in Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre. Co-led this year by Music Director Ward Stare and Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik, the 75-minute concert features the full orchestra on stage playing excerpts from the upcoming season, which opens in September. Maestros Stare and Tyzik will share their thoughts on programming the RPO’s 95th Philharmonic and Pops Series, as well as Sunday Matinee, OrKIDstra and Holiday concerts. They’ll also disclose next season’s exciting Special Concerts and guest artists during the casual, conversational evening. Admission is FREE, but advance tickets are required. Those interested should reserve their general admission seats as soon as possible by calling (585) 454-2100.

“We’ve had so much fun with our audiences in the past, and with my friend Jeff co-hosting with me, this year will be even better,” says Stare, who originated the unique, live preview concerts in his inaugural year as music director.

“Ward and I are going to treat the audience as if they’re in our living room – a very large living room that happens to seat the entire RPO,” adds Tyzik.

Subscription packages will go on sale the following morning, Wednesday, February 8 at 10 a.m. Subscribers will have access to a wide range of subscription options and price points, and are guaranteed consistently lowest ticket prices, free ticket-exchange privileges, priority access to RPO Special Concerts like this season’s sold-out Yo-Yo Ma concert, and other valuable benefits. Subscriptions will be available online at rpo.org, by phone at (585) 454-2100, or in person at the RPO’s Patron Services Center (108 East Avenue). Single tickets will go on sale in July.

The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) has been committed to enriching and inspiring our community through the art of music since its founding in 1922.
