RPO TO ANNOUNCE 2022-23 SEASON

Rochester, NY –The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) will announce its 2022-23 season virtually on its website (https://rpo.org/) via YouTube on Wednesday, February 23 at 7 p.m. ET. A free, live community concert was originally scheduled for the week prior but was cancelled out of an abundance of caution and with the endorsement of the orchestra’s medical advisor. This pre-produced Season Reveal video will take its place.

“Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik and I are excited for this fast-paced and fun look at the musical surprises that Rochester’s world-class orchestra will share with all of you starting next September,” says Music Director Andreas Delfs. “We invite the whole community to join us!”

Subscriptions renewals will go on sale the following morning, February 24, via mail order form, online at rpo.org, or by phone at 585-454-2100 (Monday-Friday, 10 am –5 pm, please note that the Patron Services Center is currently closed to in-person purchases). New subscription sales will open in late spring. All RPO subscribers will have numerous packages to choose from, including Compose-Your-Own options, along with incentives such as seating choices, free concerts, and free parking. Subscribers will also have the ability to purchase tickets to The NutcrackerGala Holiday Pops, and exciting Specials before they go on sale to the general public. Single tickets will go on sale this summer. 

Although the 2022-23 Season Announcement will be virtual, the RPO is back performing live this month: Don Quixote on Thursday, February 10 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, February 12, at 8 p.m. in Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre; Happy Birthday, John Williams! on Friday and Saturday, February 18 & 19 at 8 p.m. in Kodak Hall; Pirates! The Quest for Blackbeard’s Treasure, (rescheduled from January) on Sunday, February 20 at 2 p.m. at Hochstein Performance Hall; and Andreas Conducts Beethoven (also rescheduled from January) on Thursday, February 24 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, February 26 at 8 p.m. in Kodak Hall.

Please note: COVID protocols have been updated and will be in effect from February 1 through March 11: Patrons aged five and up are required to show proof of COVID vaccination, with the second shot taking place at least 14 days prior to the concert. All patrons are required to wear masks during the entire performance. Venue capacity is at 65%, and areas are available for those who feel more comfortable with social distancing. 

Tickets for February concerts start at $30 for adults/$18 for children (ages 3-17), and are available online anytime at rpo.org, by phone at 585-454-2100 (Monday-Friday, 10 am –5 pm, please note that the Patron Services Center is currently closed to in-person purchases), and in person 60 minutes prior to curtain at the Eastman Theatre Box Office (433 East Main St.) for Kodak Hall concerts.

The Pops Series is sponsored by Wegmans and Canandaigua National Bank. Since the 2020-2021 Season, M & T Bank has sponsored the Philharmonic and Pops Series and continues its commitment as a Co-Sponsor for the 2021-22 Season.
