Gil Shaham, violin
BEETHOVEN Ruins of Athens Overture
BEETHOVEN Violin Concerto in D Major
BEETHOVEN Symphony No. 5 in C Minor
The 22-23 season kicks off with an exciting night of Beethoven! Violin superstar Gil Shaham makes his Rochester debut playing Beethoven’s one-and-only violin concerto – arguably his most lyrical work. Those four famous notes begin the symphony which brought Music Director Andreas Delfs to Kodak Hall for the first time as a guest conductor with the RPO in 1994. Described as “the world’s most famous symphony,” Beethoven’s heroic 5th remains a cornerstone of Western Music and is beloved by audiences far and wide.
